There's much to see here, so take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about your new pet.
If you just purchased your reptile friend, here's some helpful tips:
1. SCHEDULE OF FEEDING: We typically feed our hatchlings on Thursday, so try to stick with a Thursday or Friday schedule. This will make the transition to your home much easier.
2. CAUTION / SUGGESTION: We know you love holding your little friend; however, we'd suggest not handling your buddy on the day before or on feeding day. We want your snake eating pinkies and mice food only... ***Think about how we get when we get hangry...
3. DINNER TIME: We'd suggest thawing the mouse or pinky in hot tap water for 60 minutes or until thawed. Be sure to let the food cool to warm or room temperature before feeding.
4. SUGGESTIONS: Use a pair of reptile tweezers or dollar tree tongs to pick up the pinky or mouse for feeding. This also helps your snake understand the difference between handling and dinner time.
5. HOW TO FEED: You can present the food to your buddy's nose. You'll see a couple of tongue flicks and typically an opening mouth. Once the snake has a grip on the food, let go of food from the tweezers or tongs, and it's dinner time.
6. MY SNAKE DIDN'T EAT--HELP!!!: First, don't worry. You can try feeding again the next day or even in a few days. Snakes will eat when they're hungry. Sometimes a new home, new enclosure, new environment can make a snake reluctant to eat. Trust us, they will eat eventually.
